Remember the moments when the events of an unspeakable tragedy unfolded in both New York City, Washington, DC, and Shanksville, PA. It is now 15 years later, and still the memory is haunting, painful, and still too fresh.
The National September 11 Memorial Museum & World Trade Center Memorial is in New York City. It has been estimated that this memorial that will hopefully stand for centuries, will become the most visited site in New York City, and possibly the United States. This is a Memorial that will serve as a place for parents to share with children not only the history and tragedy of that day but also the resolve of the people to remain strong, united, and protectors of this great Country.
The names are being read aloud to drift through the air and remind those walking through the memorials in the three cities that were impacted on 9/11. Others hear the names read aloud at memorial services across the US or through their televisions at home. Bells are being rung as specific times are recounted on the clock at the moments planes impacted, towers fell, and heroes both chose to sacrifice their lives to save others and ran to help those who needed aid.
Fifteen years have passed. We are stronger, firmer in our resolve to protect this land that has stood as a symbol of freedom and has been the destination of those seeking greater opportunities for their family… and we will ALWAYS remember.
