The largest music festival in the DC area has begun and there will be 9 fantastic days filled of all genres of Jazz music. The Annual DC Jazz Festival officially kicks off on June 10 and will conclude on June 19th. In that time period over 100 performances will have entertained at over 45 different venues across the city. One section of venues which is very popular is the "Jazz in the 'Hoods". CAISO is proud to be a part of the "Jazz in the 'Hoods" performances and will be performing live today June 10th from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.

“Jazz in the ‘Hoods is designed to showcase the unique vitality of jazz as an intimate art form, as a music that brings people together in D.C.’s restaurants, clubs, hotels and galleries,” said Sunny Sumter, Executive Director of the DC Jazz Festival. “We’re very proud that this partnership enables us to make this jazz series accessible throughout the city. The series offers something for everyone -- novices, avid jazz enthusiasts and anyone in-between.”
Jazz in the ‘Hoods brings the excitement and atmosphere of larger festival activities to the more intimate atmosphere of favorite neighborhood establishments. With a variety of free and ticketed performances in clubs, restaurants, hotels, and galleries such as Gallery O on H, Blues Alley, Twins, The Islander, Acadiana, Bossa Bistro, Utopia, Jo Jo’s, the Mandarin Oriental, Cashion’s Eat Place, Johnny’s Half-Shell, the Dupont and Madison hotels, The Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery, spread out around Adams Morgan, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, Southeast, Southwest, U Street NW, and Woodley Park, Jazz in the ‘Hoods is expected to draw a large and diverse crowd.
