Wedding planning is in high gear as many Brides are finalizing the plans for their big day. The point is that many are putting so much effort into some points of the wedding that the ones that can make the biggest impact are being overlooked. A Bride could be stressing over the seating arrangements or Bridesmaids gifts and be totally overlooking that they should be finalizing the photo choices and the song list for the reception band.
Most Brides would not attempt to go without a wedding planner in their hands. The wedding planners are very good at giving a Bride a check list as a countdown to the Wedding Day. However, it may be that some Brides need to speed up the process on certain items. Don’t be tempted to go down the list at the same speed as the planner tells you. There may be things that need to be done sooner rather than later.
In larger cities it may mean that a Bride must schedule a photographer or her reception site much sooner than a planner lists due to the level of demand from other Brides. Whereas in a smaller city where there may not be many choices for services a Bride should choose her limousine service much sooner than in a larger city.
One routinely overlooked item is that of the music during the reception. The Wedding Day service music is usually picked quickly in the planning process but the Bride may totally overlook the music the couple would like played at the reception. Or perhaps the music for the reception has been a total overlook all together with the reception site, table settings, flowers, and food menu needing attention.
Live bands need to be booked way in advance. Few will have calendar openings any closer than 90 days or farther out for more in demand bands. However, it doesn’t hurt to ask but a Bride should do so quickly in her planning process. Don’t just choose the first band you are referred to either. Go and see them play or ask for video of a performance. You can also ask to see their contract which should list how long they will play and how many breaks will be taken. A play list or song list should also be provided so you can determine which songs you would like to be played during your reception.
Don’t get stuck on the smaller details without giving a glance ahead for what decisions will need to be made in the next few weeks while planning. A Bride needs to be a multi-tasker and aware of what needs to be pushed back on the plan to make room for a more pressing manner. Most of all it is important to remember what the day is all about and that in all the planning it really matters not what gets done or how well, but rather that the couple and their guests celebrate the marital union and blessed occasion with excitement and joy.
