Back to school means back to the books. What a better way to get reunited with books than with the 2014 Library of Congress National Book Festival. Not only will kids love the event, but families can also find great joy in discovering news and notes about the biggest authors, poets, and illustrators. The book fair is a great exercise for the mind and will offer a limitless collection to peruse for young and old alike. Make sure and check out the book fair coming to the Walter E. Washington convention center August 30, 2014.
More than 100 authors representing several different genres will be on hand to answer questions, sign books, and discuss their latest works. The outstanding lineup will be giving presentations in pavilions accessible by all who attend. Pavilions will be broken down by areas of interest including: Children, Teens & Children, Fiction & Mystery, History & Biography, Contemporary Life, Poetry & Prose, Graphic Novels & Science Fiction and Special Programs.
New to the festival is an official Scout patch. Scouting troops can visit the National book festival meet popular authors, get books signed and participate in festival activities. Scouting patches make great souvenirs (for non-scouts too), they are available for purchase to commemorate this annual event.
An impressive list of authors will be available for pictures, book signings, and to answer even the most curious of questions. The evening programming is going to be dynamite it includes a Poetry Slam, Graphic Novels Super Session, a Great Books to Great Movies panel and a dialogue on the work of three towering writers in the Mexican literary canon, Octavio Paz, Efraín Huerta and José Revueltas, all of whom were born a century ago.

Washington Convention Center on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is no charge for admission and all book lovers are invited!
