It happens once a year, it is not something you want to miss, and it combines what most women can’t resist: fashion, music, celebrities, sales, and shopping. Today and tonight all across the world from New York City to LA, from the USA to Milan, the fashion and music world are combining to bring out again “Fashion’s Night Out”. What began as an idea of Vogue’s Editor, Anna Wintour, as a way to bring shoppers and visitors back into NYC after 9/11 has grown to an annual celebration that has extended around the world.
Celebrities, designers, top models, celebrity stylists, celebrity hairstylists and makeup artists will all be on hand to make this a night of celebration, introduction of new lines and products, and sales to die for. Women and men alike will walk into their favorite stores and see not only live performances by well-known musicians and singers, but celebrities that will be serving as spokespersons for lines. One of the biggest thrills is that it is the one time that you have a great chance of walking into a designer’s boutique and being greeted by that actual designer.
Designers come out on Fashion’s Night Out to not only connect with those who keep them in business by purchasing their products and merchandise but to find out what people want, what they miss in the designs of today, and what excites them enough to spend their well-earned money.
Cities all over the US and in other countries will have special events planned, stores will be offering fantastic sales and don’t be surprised if you are greeted with a glass of champagne and complimentary chocolates as you enter a store. Think you are hearing girls screaming Justin Bieber’s name coming from the Dolce & Gabanna Boutique on Madison Avenue, you’re right – he’ll be there. Think that is DJ Pauly D, Nicki Minaj or LL Cool J taking part in Fashion’s Night Out – you’d be right and that is by far a small sampling of what is in store for tonight.
But you don’t have to wait until tonight to begin having fun with Fashion’s Night Out! In New Orleans they are starting FNO, as it is also known, during the day and into the night! It’s is going to be a shopping and fashion extravaganza for hours. You don’t have to be in a big city to participate either. Smaller towns are joining in and local malls are gearing up to take part. There is also plenty of ways to enjoy the event online. Take part in FNO through the big cities by following the Twitter hashtag #FNO.
