When i'm not playing my Steelpan with CAISO, my days are spent as Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Maya Angelou Middle School in Washington, DC. I work with victims and survivors of abuse every school day. For some victims of abuse the stresses of life can be insurmountable, especially if the victim has not received therapy. If these allegations are true prayfully the powers that be would consider ensuring that the victims get therapeutic treatment planning and life skills training for those that need it.
I think the John Baldoni makes several great points about accountability and suggestions to developing leaders, in his article An Abuse of Power? Lessons from Penn State. This commentary is very thought provoking. The Penn State Tragedy brings to light that abuse effects many innocent people and "at-risk" individuals, especially children or the elderly. Child abuse whether physical, emotional and sexual is plaguing our society and needs to be taken seriously at all times. Although, many people seem to be very upset with Mr. Paterno; let's not forget all the good that he has done for his community.
