It's no secret that President Barack Obama loves music. So it comes as no surprise that he now has an inauguration playlist on Spotify.
The official Obama inauguration Twitter account unveiled the president's playlist picks, which kicks off with Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours)" and includes Katy Perry's "Firework," Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" and Usher's "Something Special."
Music may not be the first thought when you are planning an
event or celebration but it should definitely be the one item on the planning
list that gets the most consideration.
The music should be as important as the venue and the menu. If it does get the right consideration then
the event will be a success, for music more than any other part of a
celebration sets the mood and ambiance for the guests.
It is a common myth that live music is expensive and likely
out of range for most celebration planning budgets. Yet, that is far from the truth and many a
party could have been a much bigger event for all attending had there been
music. Many live bands can make adjustments
to their playing time or number of musicians and vocalists to adapt their
expense requirements to a party’s budget.
Exploring the option is definitely worth the effort due to the positive
overall impact live music can have for an event.
There are many ways to find a live band that will best suit
your event needs. One way is to simply
ask the venue at which you are holding your event. They will have had hands on experience with
bands and will know how they met the expectations of their past clients. It can often be helpful to hire a band that
has played at the venue you choose so that they are familiar with the location,
setup and rules of the management.
Another way to find a live band is to of course search the
Internet. By seeking that path you will
find that not only can you usually hear tracks of music but you can view videos
of the band performing. Many will have
contracts you can download and view, as well as playing list options. CAISO has these on our Web site and we also
allow free downloads of many of our songs for Brides or Wedding Planners to use
on their Save the Date Web sites to give their guests a preview of the event to
come.
Whether you are planning an intimate small party to
celebrate a promotion or anniversary or you are planning a large wedding or
corporate event there should be a strong consideration to add music and to seek
out a live band. The event will truly be
remembered and considered a much more elegant and special event if you do.

February is Black History Month and there are many ways to
participate in the recognition. In the
Washington, DC area there are several special events and while we are a few
weeks away it pays to plan to attend the events early as they are very popular
and in some cases sold out. The
Smithsonian, the National Archives, the DC Library and various historic
sites in Arlington will all have special programs and you should visit their
sites for updates and announcements.
This year will welcome in highly planned and more vigorous events
at the Lincoln Memorial in recognition of the 150th Anniversary of the signing
of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Abraham Lincoln signed the proclamation on January 1, 1863. The US Postal Service released the first of a
series of planned special
commemorative stamps on January 2.
The first one limited edition stamp was to commemorate the signing of
the Emancipation Proclamation and the other two will be released later in the year
and will commemorate the March on Washington and Rosa Parks. These are limited edition stamps with special
first day release sheets of the stamps and other items which can be purchased at the USPS Web site or
through your local post office.
The Martin
Luther King, Jr. Memorial will be holding special events to commemorate the
50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. There will also be special events held nationwide
at most colleges, museums and other venues.
Even if you are not able to participate in the DC area there are likely
many events to be held near your own town.
Another special event will be held on February 23rd
aboard the Spirit of Washington. There
will be a special “Black
History Month Lunch Cruise”. The
music featured on the cruise will be centered on celebrating african american music
artists which will involve both live music and that offered by a DJ. It is sure to be a special event.
As February draws nearer we will share more detailed
information with you on upcoming events including those that will involve
CAISO. We hope you will come back and
visit us often for this information and much more!

Since our music is sometimes greatly inspired by Reggae Music, especially Bob Marley, it was definitely going to draw our interest when we heard there was a YouTube video of a baby crying and then comforted when he heard a Bob Marley song played. The video so far has had over 6 million hits. In posts past we have talked about how CAISO music can bring an atmosphere to your event that is joyful, fun, happy, and easy. An event to enjoy, shrug off the demands of every day life and enjoy the moment, the people, and the reason for the celebration, be it a wedding, birthday, graduation, or a "just because" party. This baby is a testament to what we "know" and we just had to share it with you here.
Just take a look at this video and it will no doubt bring a smile to your face. Then consider what a good choice it is to bring the right music to your event and all your guests can be as happy as this baby! CAISO can bring you the right music and a level of professionalism that has always been a part of our tradition and reputation. We hope you'll share our site with others and please join us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter! Don't forget to visit our download page for free ring tones too!
