Your Guide to Making the Most of Thanksgiving Weekend

It is the busiest day for traveling across the US as families and friends gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. The day brings about everything from eating traditional favorites, watching football games, and gearing up for the many Black Friday sales that will get people into savings frenzies. It is also the beginning of the holiday season for releasing Holiday themed music CDs and some of the most anticipated movie releases of the year.

Here is a quick list to give you an insider look on all things Thanksgiving:

For many the holiday just wouldn’t be the same without a viewing of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” – you will be able to rekindle the joys of your childhood or share it with the little ones gathered in your home by tuning into ABC tonight 8/7 and again on Thanksgiving Day 8/7.
For some great Thanksgiving movies that will be playing on TV, rented, or streamed to your digital device of TV consider: “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles”, “Pieces of April”, Disney’s “Pocahontas”, and “Home for the Holidays”
“Life of Pi” is open in theaters across the US today and the family themed movie “Rise of the Guardians”. “Lincoln” is also playing nationwide and is considered an Academy Award contender. Because many people attend movies over the Thanksgiving weekend it is suggested to buy tickets online to make sure you get in to the movies you want to attend.
It is estimated that 43.6 million people will travel today so plan for plenty of time to get to where you are going and be alert and safe on the road.
If camping out and fighting the crowds is not your thing then don’t fret about missing great deals on potential Christmas gifts. Cyber Monday, the Monday following Black Friday is considered the best day to get special deals online.

Of course little else can signal it is Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season is in gear than the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Parade will have behind the scene features on many cable shows with the Parade itself covered live on CBS and NBC. This is the 86th year of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and it will begin at 9AM.

Music News Around the World You’ll Want to Know

A few music news items from around the world are so interesting that they deserve special attention by us. Once you read them then we are sure you will agree this was something you wanted to know!

It may not be as well known in the US but the Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK is likely the most popular music festival in the world. Tickets for the 2013 event sold out in less than one hour and the list of performers is yet to be released. That means the event is so well represented by top performers that people are willing to purchase before they know who will play. Rumors are swirling and it is possible that a few of the top performers will likely be the Rolling Stones, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Adele.
Skyfall, the latest James Bond movie released this past weekend, broke box office records with having already earned over a half billion dollars worldwide in its beginning release. The title song which was recorded by and co-written by Adele is getting rave reviews for setting the mood for the movie. Daniel Craig admitted that when he first heard the title song that once the music began and he heard the voice of Adele he was moved to tears. Mr. Craig has signed on to do at least two more Bond movies.
The music video on YouTube of PSY singing Gangnam Style has knocked Jennifer Lopez out of the number two spot of Most Viewed Music Video but the video has achieved the top spot for the Video with the Most Likes. This gave PSY a Guinness World Record with LMFAO pushed into the number two spot with Party Rock Anthem and Justin Bieber into number three with Baby.
Taylor Swift may have been less popular at this year’s Country Music Awards but she racked up at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Both Swift and Justin Bieber picked up three awards and each won their category of Best Female Artist and Best Male Artist.
Hurricane Sandy victims are still in great need and the music industry has stepped up in many different ways. Carrie Underwood donated her profits from her Atlantic City Concert to victims and Lady Gaga donated a million dollars to Sandy victims. NBC’s benefit concert brought in $23 million and is still gathering donations through sales of the performance.
The performers are not yet announced but the largest organized benefit concert is expected to be the one that will take place at Madison Square Garden on 12-12-12. The organizers are the same ones behind the successful 9-11 concert that involved Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and Elton John.
